  1. In this district it is generally thought lucky to start the building of a house on a Tuesday. The people say "it takes a month of Mondays to finish work rightly"
    Friday is the day for "flitting" from one house to another. Saturday is a bad day for "Saturday's flitting is not a long sitting"
    Friday is a lucky day too to start ploughing or indeed any work. They say "Saturdays work is never finished"
    The "borrowed days" are the first three days of April. These days are supposed to be "hasky" like the days of March. March borrowed these three
