This is a true story. It happened at Coney Hall on the banks of the River Boyne in Co. A man in the name of Smith lives there now.
Ema Buchar was the Cook in this house, Her Master was called Brabison and a girl lived in the Gate Lodge called Margaret Skain.
Margaret Skain was jealous of Ema Buchar because she was the Cook and had a good time. One day when Mr Brabison was out, Ema Buchar was cooking the dinner, Margaret Skain came in unknownst and gave her a blow on the head. While Ema Buchar was trying to defend herself, Skain got a holt of her hair and hit her on the head three or four times. She then cut her head off. Having that done, there was a Draw Well in the yard at the back door. She dragged her out of the house and thrun her in the Well.
The master when he came home saw the blood from the Range to the Well. He could not find Ema Buchar. He sent word to(continues on next page)- Collector
