The old man told Paddy to go home and he said "Go home now Paddy and sweep the floor clean and put out the fire, put the childern to bed and shut all the doors and windows. Paddy did as he was told and at half past eleven a queer looking fiddler jumped down the chimney and began to play his fiddle, Paddy got up to dance but the fiddler hit him on the ankle with his bow and Paddy was a cripple for the rest of his life.
