-keeran Church from the Catholics in the penal days the bell of the church would not ring for them. They put it on a tree outside the grounds and it rang. It was left there till the new Church was built about 1900. Then they put the bell back in the belfry but still it would not ring. People say it was on account of the stones of the old church being used. They put the bell down again on a small stand and it rang. It is there to the present day.
