  1. Long ago a fair was held in Warrenstown where Mr. Shaw's public house is situated and the fair-green is still to be seen. The fair-green at that time was owned by Mr. J. Cluskey. The fair was always held in a New Year's Day. My father was at the last fair in it and it is forty years ago. There were very few at the last fair, and there was a sale for cattle sheep and pigs. My father was let in free but he had to pay so much on every head of cattle when he was coming out.
