- (continued from previous page)be seen is a large round heap of earth. There is no fence of any kind around any of them except the one in Knocktown. No people are allowed to cut bushes or trees around these forts or raths.
- There is a fort in Michael McKeevers land in the townland of Assey. It is called the ratheen. It is in a circular shape and is covered with small black bushes. From its summit five other raths can be seen. There is two in Bellinter, one in Balgeeth, one in Tribley and one on Patrick Sheridans land near Bective Station.
There is a chamber under the ground. The entrance to it is covered by a large stone at the side of the rath. One man tried to move this stone, but he fell and broke his leg.
