- There are "fairy forts" in the school district of Cormeen, and they are called "flour-hill". There is another one in Tierworker, Bailieborough, and a man ploughed it, and the horses stuck in it. The man went home to tell what happened and with the fright he died, and it never was ploughed since. There is another fort in a field at Farrells of Moynalty, Kells, Co. Meath. It is said that the fairys have a lovely house under the earth with furniture, and many grand things in it. It is said that the mother fairy built the fort for the young ones. There is a stray sod in a field in Rosemount, Co. Meath, and many people went astray in it. It is said that if you turn your coat inside out you'd find your way home, or if you'd go on 'til you'd meet water it would(continues on next page)
