The leaves of the nettle were very useful for curing the measles in children
Linseed was used for coughs and it was also a good poultice for burns and scalds. The bark of the oak tree was a great cure for stomach trouble when boiled. "Comfrey" was used as a cure for lung and chest trouble
Ragwort was used for coughs and colds.
Mullen plant when boiled in milk would cure a sting of a bee.
Catmint was a cure for a cold as it would make the person sweat.
The "Blessed Thistle" was good for loss of appetite.
Mistletoe was useful for curing the nerves.
Hawkweed was a common cure for the whooping cough.
The black currant when made into a liquid was a good medicine for hoarseness and sore throats.
The leaves of the cuckoo's sorrel was used as a salad.
