- There is one forge in this parish, the smith is Thomas Keegan. The forge is situated in the middle of the village, there is a wooden roof on it, the door is made in the shape of a horse shoe. There is one fire place in it. The blacksmith uses hammers: large and small, a tongs a bellows and iron in his work, he shoes horses and donkeys. He does not make ploughs but he fixes farm implements. The forge work is done in side. The smith is a strong man."Under a spreading chest nut tree.
