- Here is a prayer which my mother told me. It is said when going to bed.
As I lie on my bed to sleep. I give my soul to God to keep. If any evil thing happens me the Blessed Virgin waken me. There are four corners round my bed; there are four angels over spread. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, God bless this bed that I lie on. And if I die before I wake the Lord in heaven give my soul to God to keep. O mercyful Jesus have mercy on me, my soul and my body resign unto thee. O Jesus of Madrid the king of the Jews, Save us from a sudden and an unprepared death. Amen. - This is a prayer that is said when people bless themselves with holy water:-
God wash me clean and help me to keep the graces Thou hast given me through the water of Baptism.- Informant
