- (continued from previous page)Meat was eaten very often. They used to eat bacon and fresh meat but bacon was the principal meat. Fish was eaten in olden times. Potatoes and cabbage were used very much.Porridge and colcannon which were used very much in olden times are gone out of fashion now. Some people ate late at night and others did not.
Special food was eaten on special occasions.
A feast was kept on Easter Sunday always.
Tea was not used years ago.
