- The most common of all birds in this district is the robin which is very tame in the winter.
It will often come in on an open window in search of something to eat and is never refused by the people.
Small tits, if food is left on a window sill, will visit often if there is anything to be got in the Winter.
The blackbird is commonly seen around farm houses as well as the thrush which sings a very cheerful song on spring mornings and is much admired for her beautiful singing; the blackbird is enjoyed by all who hear him whistle.
In this district starlings are very numerous, they travel in great numbers, in the spring they build their nests in holes in walls.(continues on next page)- Collector
