Marriage Customs
“My father gave me the following information.”
My father gave me the following information.
Long ago the Priest would go to the girls house and marry the pair that were to be married. There would be a great feast there that day. Some person would go around with a hat and every one would put some money in it for the Priest.
He told me that they would not put on the wedding dress until the day of the marriage if they did they would not be married in it.
He also told me that it was unlucky to meet with an accident going from the marriage.
He told that at a wedding one night a girl took a fit of sneezing and could not stop, and a voice out of the roof said "cant you say God bless us." All the people looked up and the roof was pickled with fairies.- Collector
