Killnacarrow - I live in the townland of Ballintubber. Our farm is divided into seventeen fields at home and the majority of them have names. The far field, the well field, the long field, the high field, the river meadows, the low field, the threecorner field, the bull field, the bottom meadows, the wheat field, the hill field, the road field, the blackgarden, Owen's meadow and Owen's bottoms.
The well field was so called because their is a well in a corner of it.
There is a river running at the bottom of the two meadows that is why they are called the river meadows.
Owen's meadow got its name because formerly it was owned by a man called Owen Nolan.
There is a high fort in our field called Seán na mór.
