- My father told me that Slator's mill was burned in the year 1918. On the morning of the accidient a neighbour named Blanford was out shooting and he noticed the fire and gave the alarm. James Keegan who was then kiln-man was accused of not raking the kiln-fire and it was believed this was the cause. But it was after found out the fire was raked(continues on next page)
