    Marriages take place in this parish between January and Lent, the time which is called Shrove-tide.
    May is thought very unlucky to hold marriages. SOme days are also thought to be unlucky according to an old rhyme, Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday the best day of all, Thursday for losses, Friday for
