- About a hundred and thirty years ago the Jordans of Bandra and the O'Neills of Crodrumin had a falling out over something very trifling. Both families were noted fighters and they often met and fought and as time went on both got their friends and relation to help them and there was a dance in a house in Lettergeeragh near Cornawn Bawn it was decided that both parties Collect all their men and fight it out after the dance. Jordans men arranged that when they would leave the dance each man would pull his right arm out of his coat so that they would know each other by the white shirt sleeve. They gathered in a field at Cornawn Bawn and in the next field they saw another group of men. Thinking that it was O Neill and his men they jumped into that field but the crowd was now in the next field again. They pursued them into that field but again the crowd were back in the next field(continues on next page)
