    he sprays them again.
    In Autumn when the potatoes are fit to dig, the farmer goes out with a spade to dig them, then he puts the bad ones by themselves and the good ones by themselves. Then when all are dug he makes a large hole in the garden and puts the good potatoes into it. He puts the bad ones in the barn to boil for pigs and hens.
    There are various kinds of potatoes, champion, ker-pinks, Arran banners Up-to-dates. Potatoes are the principal food of the people in this locality.
