The road to Ballymahon is an ordinary district road within a few perches of the town. The road to Longford is an ordinary district road as far as the Black Bridge and it is tarred from that into the town. No one living remembers the origin of these roads.
There is only one old road known of in this locality. It extended from Smithfield to Foxhall. There is no remains of this road left only tradition tells us of it.- Collector
