Interference with Fairies
Stable built on site of rath. Once upon a time a very rich farmer built a stable as the old one was bad, and where he built it was on a rath.
Everyone told him not to build it there but he only laughed at them.
So he put in his four horses as they were working hard every day, and he being a rich man, they [crossed out] he was giving them the best of food.
They were only about a week in the new stable when the man who was working with him told him the horses were getting thin.
He said someone must be taking the food from them in the night.
He said if they were he would soon catch them.
That night he went out to the stable and lay on a bundle of straw with the horses.
At twelve oclock the door slapped open, and in ran eight little men.
