There are only two ruined castles in the district I am living in. One is situated in the townsland of Rathimney, New Ross. Co. Wexford. and the other is situated in the townsland of Boley Ballycullane, Co. Wexford. Both castles are in the barony of Shelburne and they were built by the Normans. Boley castle was built in the year 1170. and is the older castle of the two. Some of the walls of this castle was knocked down about the year 1900. and the stones were sold by the present owner to be broken and used for roadwork on the Yoletown road Ballycullane, Co. Wexford, It is said there was a dungeon attached to Boley castle but this is now(continues on next page)- Collector
