- Long ago hurling matches were played on the top of Slieve Coillte mountain the nearest mountain to where I live where the match was played. All townland and parish matches were finished there. The top of the mountain is level and at each end of the play ground they used to have a big long thin sally with both ends stuck down in the grounds.
