    the lard melts, then place it on the part of the head affected.
    10. Cure for Warts - (a) Get a snail, rub it on the wart, then stick the snail on the thorn of a gooseberry bush. When the snail falls off, the wart falls off.
    (b) Get a matchbox, put a piece of straw into it, bury the box and when the straw rots, the wart will fall off,
    11. Cure for corns - (a) Black ink rubbed on the Corn will cure it.
    (b) Walk barefooted through a grassy field in the early morning when the dew is on the ground.
    12. A Stye in the eye :- Get a gooseberry thorn, bury it for two or three days, then take it up and stick it into the stye in the name of the Father, etc
    13. In olden times straw was boiled in water, this water was used for washing sores on a horse.
    14. Soap rubbed on a burn will cure it
    15. Cure for scald - rub it with the white of an egg
