    there should be trade enough for a rope-walk or a modern rope-factory in Wexford today to supply the miscellaneous requirements in the way of cordage.
    Glove Making
    This was another old Wexford industry that has died out of memory. It was carried on by a French colony that settled in the Selskar end of the town. The only trace of it that survives is in the name of Trimmers Lane, where the trimmers of the leather for making the gloves lived.
    Herring Curing
    In the year 1654 there were no less than eighty thousand barrels of cured herrings entered
