- Lime Making 23-3-‘38
(Told by Richard Parle Poulpeasty Taghmon Co.Wexford)Long ago the people used to make lime out of a rock and first of all they blast a stone
out of a rock and break them up. Then they would bring them up to the top of the kiln.
Then they set a fire in the bottom of the kiln with twigs and faggots and colum and then they break the stone finer and throw it down on the fire. When they (they) have in a layer of lime stone then they put in a layer of colum and so on upto the top of the kiln. They light the fire in the bottom of, and after some time the burnt stone is converted into lime.

(Told by Mrs Parle Poulpeasty Taghmon Co. Wexford). There are a lot of people who can cure alot of diseases.
Here are some of them. They used to cure warts with a potatoe.
They used to cut the potatoe in the middle and rub it on the wart and the side you would rub the wart with they would bury it and if it grew the wart would grow and if it died the wart would die. There is a blest well in Brown’s Castle and if you drank the water out of it it would cure the toothache.
