Just outside Taghmon about a mile from the village there is an estate called Brownscastle.
There was a factory there, in which were manufactured blankets and coarse tweed.
There was an old man used to work in this factory who loved to dress himself in brightly coloured ribbons and paper. He would always be seen at sports and amusements in Taghmon and he was called "Brownscastle Pat."
