- At two o'clock one morning my grandmother and a neighbour were coming home from a neighbour's house when they heard the kicking of a football in a field where there was a football match the day previous. They stopped and listened and still the went on but they could not see anyone. They believed that it was the fairies playing this game because they could not see any human person.In a place where my grandmother was living one time there was a hunt meet each month. One day there was one and it was a great meet and that night as my grandmother was standing outside the door she heard the horses in full gallop and the dogs howling and could hear the lash of whips very plain but nothing could be seen. It was their belief that the "good people" held their hunt meet on that night About sixty years ago there was a holy water font in the ruins of Ardtramont chapel. The owner of the estate wanted to remove this font and have it as a drinking trough for his cattle. After a long struggling two strong horses brought it up but after that the place was haunted(continues on next page)
