- A man stole two dead bodies out of Castle Ellis graveyard. He had no way of getting the bodies into town or to a doctor.
A friend of his was going to town with a horse and cart and the man asked him to carry in a parcel for him. He did not tell him what was in the parcel. The man that was going to town was about half-way, when he got afraid and his horse fell and was sweating very much. The man got out of the cart but could not find out what was wrong. He opened the parcel to see what it was and he found two corpses. He then unyoked his horse and looked under the cart and he saw the devil holding the axleThe man's horse died a few hours later and the man himself died a day late.- Bailitheoir
