    About forty years ago a man named Doyle died in Killenagh in the evening...

    About forty years ago a man named Doyle died in Killenagh in the evening and just after darkness had set in that night something like a dense, rolling cloud came up the road from the bridge. All the lower animals took fright and fled in all directions. Pigs and cattle rushed from where they were lying or feeding through the fields and some of them were not found for days. Fowl went wild about the houses and many of them dashed out through windows and doorways. Some of them were found dead next morning and others were drowned in the marl-holes which are plentiful in the district. Killenagh is supposed to have
