There was a woollen factory in Monart about the year 1905 Mr Broe was the last owner of it. and he made blankets and tweed. It was driven by the Marley river. It closed down in the year 1910 and it is now almost in ruins and is used as a stable

About seventy years ago there was a woollen Factory in Monart which was owned by a gentleman named Tom Pounden of Blackstoops, Enniscorthy. He sold it to Power Brothers of the Folly Enniscorthy.
