    Many people skated on the ice and had great fun and crowds gathered to watch them.
    There was still more fun on Farmer's pond in the same neighbourhood.
    They not alone skated but held great parties on the ice.
    Chinese lanterns were hung on the branches of the trees around the pond which made the scene very picturesque. The people sang, danced, skated, and feasted into the far hours of the night.
    When the end of the "Great Snow" came nobody was sorry and there was never such a great fall of snow since.
