- When Father Murphy was being pursued so closely from Killcomney Hill by the yoemen across the country, he ran for this farmers Ceppel's of Ballyvale, Carlow. He ran out through the Hall door up the granary steps to a loft of wheat where some labouring men hid him, and after a very close search by the yoemen their last resort was to the loft of wheat and they failed to get him though one bayonet went through the Collar of his coat. Father John Murphy made his way then to Tullow. He was arrested in a place called Castle-More in a mudwall cabin, brought to Tullow, whipped and then burned
