A Local Song
“To Gabbally lately I rambled expecting amusement to see”
A Local SongTo Galbally lately I rambled
Expecting amusement to see
I saw a large crowd there assembled
They said they were waiting for me
They told me that old Stephen Brady
Caught a fox lurking near to the place
For a hunt they were all getting ready
So I waited to join in the chase.ii
That moment the horn was sounded
And Dick from concealment was drawn
Then over the fences he bounded
Down by Murphy's of Coolafalaun
For Lambstown he crossed over the valley
To baffle the scent of the dogs
And Stephen his kernel to rally
Cried "hi tally ho" through the bogsComposed by: Patrick Whelan,
