- The severest thunder storm of recent years occurred here about a year and a half ago. It began about 9 oclock in the evening and kept on until about four oclock in the morning. It put out the lights in the mill where my father works and they had to stop the machinery as they could not go near it with the lightning.
This storm did very great damage. It killed sheep, and other animals that were out in the fields. It knocked trees and ditches.- Collector
