- There are many roads in this district but I do not know their names. Some of them seem to be very old. I pass by the Pill road every day going to school. It leads from Poulmounty bridge and follows the mill stream along the valley until it ends on a kind of quay where the stream joins the Barrow. This road is not now used but I am sure there must have been a lot of traffic on it long ago because the people say there was a landing and loading place where it ends and boats used to come in there and take in corn and limestone. There are the ruins of a corn store and many lime kilns nearby.
