    other man was so tired that he did not mind him and the soldiers came up and shot him.
    Then they followed his companion and shot him also. It is said that one of the United Irishmen shot at an English officer, who was who was coming up through Knockagown. He did not kill him but he frightened him and he went back to his companions.
    Another story is said that there was a fight at the Barrow and a great number of the United Irishmen were killed and the English buried them at a place known as Murder Lane in Leighlinbridge.
