- The study of birds is a very fascinating one. Each birds has habits and ways of its own. There are several birds which frequent this district namely the robin, wren, goldfinch, wagtail, lark, crow, swallow, cuckoo corncrake sea-gull and many others.The swallow the cuckoo and the corncrake are migratory birds. They come to this country in the Spring, and stay here during the warm months, and then migrate to a warmer climate for the winter.The swallow is a bird much loved by the people. No one will harm her. She builds her nest in houses and hay-barns and it is peculiar to note that swallows which brought out their young ones in a special nest this year will return to the same nest next year.
