    III Roscat: Roscat got its name from a battle which was fought there long ago. Ros means a wood and Cat a battle. A stream over which there is a bridge flows through Roscat. This bridge (is) was called "The Ford of the Dead"
    Some years ago a quantity of human bones and weapons were found by workmen who were making drains in the district.

    IV Castlemore When Hugh De Lacy was made earl of Meath he built many castles in Leinster. One of these he built 1 1/2 miles from Tullow. Only a foundations can now be traced. It is believed that a hermit lived there & that his body is buried in the mound. On top there is a very big stone with a cross engraved on it.
