    you can sleep happy, and I will go to rest".
    Jack went to bed and slept, and when they came in the morning to their surprise, sure there he was. He told them, when they came, the whole story. They put their arms around him, and did not know what to do with him, with joy, when they heard the news. They told him they would not let him go that night, but he told them he promised his father not to lie three nights on one bed, nor eat three meals from one table until he'd know what fear was.
    They persuaded him to stay, and said they would not ask him to sleep in the same bed, nor to eat from the one table, only to say and have a rest. When he had all done, and the money regulated, and had got a bit to eat, says the daughter to him, "lie down and have a rest after your night". He did. He lay down and fell asleep in a minute.
