- There was a man who lived in Coolnarrig, named John Finn. He used to buy pigs and save the bacon and draw it to Dublin, as this was the way farmers used to live long ago.
He had a pony for drawing the bacon. One day, as he was going to Dublin, his horse got tired and lay down at Poulaphouca. The man saw a large eel, out grazing on the bank. He caught the eel and put the harness on it. He thought the pony was dead, so he skinned the pony and brought the skin to Dublin and sold it.
