    To cure St Anthony's Fire
    The inner bark of branches of the elder tree scraped off. A handful of these with 3/4 lb of fresh lard put into a stone jar and left by the fire to simmer gently until all melted down. Then put into small jars and used as an ointment when solidified.
    Flummery
    Take some oatenmeal put into a vessel cover with water and leave until it ferments. Strain off the water, wash oatmeal again and let it settle, drain again, boil the oatmeal and eat when cooled.
