    dropped into the sea. The baits consists of crab, herring, cockle, mussel and lug-worm. A piece of lead is attached to the line to sink it. The rod is made of hickory and is nine feet long. When fishing from the shore the fish caught are cod, sole, turbot, brill, eel, plaice, bass, ray and dog fish. When fishermen begin to catch dog fish they have to give up fishing in that place as the others go away when the dog-fish come.
