    stay out in the fields, eating grass in the evening, longer than usual it is a sign of warm weather coming. if they come home early, it is a sign that cold rainy weather will follow. There are two mountains which may be seen from any part of the locality, and cows may be seen grazing on them.
    If the cows are observed to be higher up on the mountain than usual, warm weather will follow, but if they are observed to be lower down, on the mountain, than usual, it is regarded as a sign of cold frosty weather. This also applies to sheep.
    Signs of the weather observed in birds: -
    If small birds such as the robin and willy-wag-tail, are observed round the doorway early in the morning it is a sign that frosty
