- There is but one graveyard in the parish. It is beside Corlough church. The headstones are of stone, wood and marble.
They are usually erected by the friends of the deceased. The headstones are in the form of Celtic Crosses. They are beautifully ornamented.Most families have a plot in the graveyard. Unbaptized children were buried in the graveards as there was no special graveyard for them.In olden times there was a graveyard at Airmount, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan.There is no trace of it there now. There is also a graveyard on Inch Island, Kildough, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan. It was a graveyard in olden times and it still is.
Wreaths are (are) placed and flowers are planted at the graveyards.(continues on next page)- Collector
