good people may want to call and get something to eat. The food and drink left for them must be thrown out in the morn: no one must touch it. The same thing is done on "All Souls night" It is the Souls of those who died in that house who visit it that night, and not the Good People as on the night before.
    35. The Good People are very fond of the Mountain Dew, when it is made, throw a few sups on the ground for them. You will have the better luck not to be stingy with them.
    36. Dont go in on one door of a house and out on another, or you will bring their luck with you. They'd be in a rage with you.
    37. If you pass a man working he [should] say "God speed the Work" or it will go against him.
    38. Dont sew on Sunday, or you will have to rip it with your teeth after death.
    39. Wet the ashes before putting them out it is not right to have them fly up into the sky.
    40. Dont put out the ashes May Day.
    41. A death followed by a marriage in one year is always unlucky (in the same family)
    42. Two marriages in a family in the same year is very unlucky. Three marriages would be all right though.
