    Weaving as a trade was confined to certain families. In the neighbouring parish of Corlough, Bawnboy, Co. Cavan a family named McGovern living in the townland of Owencam are still called the '' Weavers ''
    Tanning of leather. Tanning was an industry in the village until about 80 years ago. The tannery was built where the Dispensary now stands up the lane still called Tan-house Lane. It was the property of a family named McGovern. Their descendants living in the townland of Gortmore, Swanlinbar are still known by the name of ''the Skins''
