In the year 1888 there was a terrible wind storm one of the worst in the centary. Some of the people had their corn cut while others had not. Some of the corn that was cut was blown away while the corn that was not cut was blown about so much that the furrows were full of grain and the stalks like corn that had been thrashed.
It was on the sixth of January 1839 the Great Wind took place. The district was not affected but in another townland conveinient to this one called "buno" a(continues on next page)- Collector
