    a bedroom the fireplace was at the gable-end. The front of the chimney was made of clay and wattles. A big post of bog oak was placed from one side wall to the other side wall. The front of the chimney was built on this post. The post was kept in pices of iron shaped thus (drawing) which were nailed to the post on the outside. there was a house over in Teap [?] Row without a chimney. It had a hole in the roof. There was a school in Castletar [?] with the fire in the centre of the floor and a hole in the roof for a chimney. This school had no glass for windows. They opened the door for light.
