    seen shining before the coach would appear. This driver wore kid gloves, and a black cape when it was raining. These coaches are only about ninety years of the road.
    The next earlier means of travelling was (a very long, low) on horse-back, or the very poor people on asses, with "bardogs" to carry their goods. An odd person had a cart or a "side-car" drawn by a horse.
    The roads were like passes and very hard to travel on beside nowadays.
