    Another time there came a man to Mr. Lynch's house. Mr McCabe brought one of the clocks and made a song about it. A verse of it is.
    "Clock-maker or watch-maker or whatever you may be
    What sort of a time piece is this you have left with me.

    The Paddy Neddies were the strongest men in the country at that time. Mr. Mc Cabe's son is alive ye It is about fifty years ago since that happened.
    About forty years there lived in a little house near to Bruskey Chapel an old labouring man named Johnny Flood. He had no learning, couldn't read or write. He would take up a piece of paper and pretend he was reading a rhyme about any topic. He made a rhyme about the "Boer War" and a verse of it is.
    Long Tom let a roar on the African Shore,
    "I'm afraid of a Boer" and General White.
    "Buller retreated as long as he waited,
    I couldn't relate it unless you were by.
    We were kept on low diet to keep us quiet,
